LEATHERFACES — The Big News
If you didn’t know already, Ultra Rare have teamed up with iconic horror franchise, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, to bring LEATHERFACES to the blockchain!
As many of you will know, horror is our thing, so getting our hands on this amazing IP and turning it into an NFT collection is a dream come true for us.
And with a brand new project comes a brand new adventure.
Our first adaptation of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be something quite different: a darkly twisted and crazy PFP project on the Ethereum blockchain.
Illustrated by maverick horror artist, Skinner, and drawing on the many incarnations of Leatherface we’ve seen across 45 years and eight movies, and with a whopping 250+ traits, LEATHERFACES will consist of 1,666 unique avatars.

Sorry — what’s that? How many unique avatars?
You read it right. 1666.
Big news gang. We’ll be reducing the mint amount from the originally intended 10666 to an incomprehensible 1666 (plus an additional 100 mints for the team, promotion and giveaways) — removing 9k mints from the sale.
Why would we pull such a crazy move? Well, we pride ourselves on being able to respond to the market. At the time of writing, eth is up, gas is on a madness and the market is down.
For some, that might be disaster, for us it’s an opportunity to do something we built our brand on. Something we absolutely revel in. And that’s making something that’s scarce af!
We’re new to ethereum and we’ve been very open and honest about that fact, knowing it’ll take time to find our feet here, and build something special.
When we set out, we didn’t want to reinvent the wheel. We simply wanted to put our spin on the whole PFP thing. We were already doing horror, which we know is divisive (some folks don’t like blood and chainsaws— the weirdoes). And our art style didn’t ape all those others (ha ha, see what I did there). The 10k mint seemed the way to go. But as we’ve moved forwards, we’ve realised it didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel Ultra Rare. So we’ll do this our way. Building bit by bit, step by step. Giving real value to our collectors, as we’ve always done, and will always do.
And with this, we’d like to give a huge thanks to our supporters who picked up their 666 Cards. You lucky lucky devils!

666 Cards cost 0.13 eth (+ gas) and give you a free Leatherface, and the ability to mint a minimum total of 3 (including your free one), without the dreaded gas war. You will also have exclusive access to The 666, guaranteeing whitelisting to future sales, voting rights on the future of the project, bonus drops such as our 1/1 Lil Leather illustrated by Bulls on the Block creator, Rui Duarte, merch, as well a tonne of other utility.
The 666 Card sale will end either when 333 cards are sold or the deadline of Tuesday 9th November 5PM UTC is hit, whichever comes first.
Should there be any cards left-over, we will reopen the sale at a later date, before we launch our next IP.

For fans of NFTs, the original film and anyone who simply likes awesome stuff, owning your very own unique one-of-a-kind Skinner illustrated Leatherface will be cool af in and of itself.
